In order to encourage and salute the contribution of artists to Odia film industry, Lalchand this year has started an award show in which it has felicitated many promising stars who have done wonder in Odia films released last year.

In the glowing starry night, besides the rocking performance of Budhaditya, Prakruti Mishra, Sabyasachi, Harihar Das, Anubha, Gargi etc, awards in different categories has been vested to the winners. While the veteran actress Gloria Mohanty has been conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award, legendary odia filmmaker Prasanta Nanda has been awarded Odisha Favorite Showman award. Talented actor from Odisha Pitabasa Tripathy who has gained fame in bollywood and Nilamadhaba Panda, the director of award winning film ‘I am Kalam’ have been awarded Odisha’s Pride Award in the evening. Likewise, ace actors Mahesweta Ray, Hara Pattnaik and Debu Bose were recognised as the State’s Favourite icons. 

In the general award categories, Anubhav and Archita were crowned the Best Actor and Actress respectively. The Lalchand Entertainment Awards 2012 award night of glitz and glamour has been a successful night to add a note of entertainment and encouragement to the artists and audience.
